  • This enzyme catalyzes the final step in the de novo synthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin from GTP.
  • The enzyme, which is found in higher animals and some fungi and bacteria, produces the erythro form of tetrahydrobiopterin. cf. EC 1.1.1.325.
